- Memos, images, contacts, and alarms are stored on your device by default.
- We do not receive or store your memo contents on our own servers.
- Microphone permission is requested when you start the STT feature.
- Recognized text enters the input field after completion and is stored as memo data only if you save the memo.
- A permission status screen helps you see required settings at a glance.
STT (Speech-to-Text) processing
STT uses Android's built-in SpeechRecognizer/Android speech recognition services. Depending on device settings, OS version, and speech service status, audio may be processed offline on the device or sent to an Android speech recognition provider such as Google voice services.
No voice or memo transfer to our servers
Screen Memo does not store voice recording files and does not send audio or memo contents to our company servers or to a separate STT server operated by us. Google AdMob and Google Play policies may apply to ads and billing.

Frequently asked questions
What permissions are needed for automatic display?
Display over other apps and notification permissions are required. Depending on Android version, exact alarm permission may also be needed.
Is the alarm calendar a Premium feature?
No. Viewing alarmed memos in the calendar is presented as a core free feature.
Is STT audio sent to Screen Memo servers?
No. Screen Memo does not store voice recording files and does not send audio to our own servers or a separate STT API. Depending on Android speech recognition services, audio may be processed by providers such as Google voice services.
Can I use STT for free?
STT is a Premium feature. Free users can try 30 successful completions that pass recognized text into the memo input field; canceled, failed, and no-result attempts do not count.
Is Screen Memo available on iPhone?
Screen Memo is currently available for Android only.
Are memo contents stored on a server?
No. Memos, images, groups, and alarms are stored and processed locally on your device by default.
Can I use it for free?
Core memo features are free. Snooze, widgets, stats, background customization, and some export features are Premium.
